The famous Grace Center strawberry shortcake recipe (by Mary Anne Staton):
4 2/3 c Bisquick
5/8 c sugar
1 c cream
6 T butter
4 t vanilla
Warm cream & butter together, to melt butter, then add vanilla. Pour into the Bisquick-sugar mixture. It will be stiff, need to work with hands. Shape into cakes, making sure they are equal thickness. This will make 12 to 16 short cakes (16 is better for mass production!).
Bake at 425 for 10-12 minutes. Need to check the bottom side carefully. You may want to do a trial run baking one or two because ovens vary.
